Chappell Roan’s 2025 Met Gala
Project Overview
NYES collaborated with Paul Tazewell, the celebrated costume designer behind Broadway productions like Wicked and Hamilton, to create the custom fringe trim featured on Chappell Roan’s striking hot-pink coat for her Met Gala debut in 2025. Crafted in our NYC studio, the shimmering fringe brought movement, texture, and high-glamour drama to a look that channeled disco opulence and embodied the evening’s “Tailored For You” theme.
Custom Fringe for Chappell Roan at the Met Gala
Our team sourced premium materials for optimal drape, weight, and light-catching brilliance. Each strand of fringe was cut, assembled, and applied by hand in our NYC studio to meet Paul Tazewell’s exacting specifications. The placement and density were meticulously tested to ensure dynamic flow for the red carpet and maximum sparkle for cameras—transforming the coat into a true performance piece.
Transforming a Coat into a Moment
The custom fringe elevated the oversized coat from statement outerwear to an unforgettable Met Gala showpiece. Chappell Roan’s look resonated both on the carpet and in editorial coverage, showcasing how NYES’s craftsmanship, paired with Paul Tazewell’s design vision, can create a moment that’s both theatrical and timeless.
