NYES Showcases Fashion Tech Innovation at New York Fashion Week

New York Embroidery Studio (NYES) was recently highlighted by DEVELOP3D in an in-depth article showcasing our latest innovations in fashion technology. As part of New York Fashion Week, we hosted an open-house event in our Garment District studio to demonstrate how we are blending traditional craftsmanship with next-generation 3D printing. The event spotlighted our collaboration with 3D printing leader Stratasys, and showed how advanced technologies are helping us push the boundaries of design, production, and sustainability.

Founded by Michelle Feinberg in 2002, NYES has become known for intricate, high-quality embellishments for runway designers, celebrities, and red carpet events like the Met Gala. Our Manhattan studio handles small-batch production, including laser cutting, hand-sewing, and embroidery, while larger orders are fulfilled through trusted partners in China and India. This combination of in-house skill and international scalability allows us to meet a wide range of creative and production needs.

Now, we’ve taken a major leap forward by integrating the Stratasys J850 TechStyle 3D printer into our studio workflow. This state-of-the-art system enables us to print directly onto textiles — from delicate fabrics to footwear and accessories — adding texture, depth, and dimension never before possible in conventional embroidery. These multi-material, full-color prints allow for highly detailed, customizable designs that are both beautiful and durable.

This fusion of embroidery and 3D printing opens up exciting new creative directions. We’re now able to create lace-like structures, sculptural surfaces, and modern embellishments that elevate traditional aesthetics with a futuristic edge. It also streamlines our workflow: we can rapidly prototype and iterate designs with less waste and faster turnaround times, making our process more efficient and more sustainable.

Our clients — from fashion houses to entertainment brands — are thrilled by the possibilities. Whether it’s a statement piece for the Met Gala or a custom garment for a fashion show, we can now offer a wider range of textures, finishes, and effects that were previously impossible or extremely labor-intensive.

This feature in DEVELOP3D underscores our commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in fashion production. At NYES, we are proud to be redefining what’s possible in garment embellishment — combining artistry, technology, and sustainability to shape the future of fashion.
