Michelle Feinberg's Vision for Sustainable Medical Gowns
A GLIMPSE INTO OUR PPE GOWNS
Michelle Feinberg, Owner of NYES, saw a surge of plastic waste once we entered a global pandemic in 2020. One time use for a full medical gown across the whole world, was something we could not tolerate. Michelle saw this as an opportunity to help our health care workers, but also create a biodegradable gown that would help humanity and not sit in a landfill for 600+ years.
We have created a biodegradable gown that has a discomposure lifespan the same as a landfill, 50 to 60 years. Medical gowns are used once and are not always properly discarded. We want to improve our waste usage within New York Embroidery Studio as well as limit the amount of waste in medical fields when it comes to personal protective equipment.
NYES is a woman-owned, small business full-design manufacturer who saw a large opportunity outside of fashion and decided to jump. We would love to make a difference in providing biodegradable gowns for suppliers and hospitals who are also geared towards making a difference within their PPE usage.
