Job Summary
Embellishment & Hand Embroidery Artisans perform both finishing and detailed handwork tasks that support the embroidery and production process. This position is ideal for candidates who take pride in detailed craftsmanship, precision, and patience, contributing directly to couture-level projects for fashion, costume, and design clients.
Essential Job Duties
- Perform embroidery cleaning, trimming, and thread removal on completed pieces.
- Handle embellishment tasks such as rhinestone application and fabric preparation.
- Execute fine handwork, including embroidery, beading, smocking, and other decorative techniques.
- Follow assignments from Floor or Project Managers accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the day.
- Occasionally assist with sample preparation or other production needs.
Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and fine motor skills.
- Prior sewing, beading, or embroidery experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to focus on repetitive tasks while maintaining high quality.
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a busy studio.
- Must speak English or Spanish.
- Work authorization required.
Reports to: Floor Manager / Project Manager
Location: 307 W 36th St, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10018
Schedule: On-site, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Compensation: $16.50–$20 per hour, depending on experience
