Job Summary
New York Embroidery Studio is expanding our live, on-site customization offerings and is seeking experienced Calligraphers to support brand activations, corporate events, and retail experiences throughout New York City. This role is ideal for someone confident working live in front of guests, comfortable in fast-paced environments, and able to deliver clean, consistent calligraphy at scale.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide live calligraphy during on-site events and brand activations
- Customize items such as paper goods, cards, tags, packaging, leather goods, and branded products
- Engage warmly and professionally with guests and clients
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of precision and consistency
- Follow brand guidelines, customization menus, and event-specific direction
Requirements
- Proven calligraphy experience (modern, classic, or both)
- Strong legibility, control, and speed suitable for live events
- Comfortable in guest-facing, public environments
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Availability for evenings and weekends as needed
- NYC-based or able to commute easily to NYC event locations
Additional Opportunities
- Opportunity to cross-train as an Event Facilitator or Event Technician
- Full training available across NYES customization services (embroidery, heat press, laser, and more)
- Potential for recurring event work, up to 20 hours per week based on availability and performance
Location: New York City (on-site events; travel within NYC required)
Compensation: $20–$50/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Part-time, on-call; up to 20 hours per week
